Convert

m² to cm². (1 m² = 10 000 cm²)

$3.5 \text{ m}^2 = 3.5 \times 10\,000 \text{ cm}^2$
$$= 35000$ cm²$

Answer: $35000$

Example 2

The circumference of a circle is 50.3 cm. Find the radius.

Show the worked solution

$C = 2\pi r$
$50.3 = 2\pi r$
$r = \frac{50.3}{2\pi}$
$$= 8$ cm (to the nearest integer)$

Answer: $8$
